Horse Racing Presenters - Alice Plunkett

Alice Plunkett has been a regular on our Channel Four screens for some time now and she will be a key member of the new team being assembled for 2013. Plunkett has been used as a main presenter of the show in the past when it comes to National Hunt Racing and she is a popular member of the team. Plunkett has a substantial background in the sport which has not gone un-noticed by the new producers of CH4 Racing and she will have a key role going forward.

Plunkett is a well know racing journalist and personality in the game covering a number of different areas. She can often be found with her feet in the irons for a big charity race and her riding experience is a valuable asset when she is on front of the camera. She is of course married to William Fox-Pitt who is a legendary British show jumper and between them they have and train many horses at their Dorset home.

Plunkett is a popular presenter with the viewers, her relaxed style and undoubted knowledge of the game combine well in front of the camera. The fact she has such a broad knowledge of horses in general as well as racing makes her an ideal part of the Channel four team. She is equally at home as one of the main presenters of the show as she is in a support role on the track and it would be no surprise to see her doing both roles going forward.

She has plenty of experience as a jockey having ridden winners on the flat, over fences and hurdles as well as riding for Great Britain at under 21 level at the European Three Day Event Championships. That insight into the sport as both a rider and a journalist is invaluable and is something that Channel Four are clearly keen to exploit.
